Core expertise

Imaging across
modalities. Thinking
beyond them.

01

Cardiovascular imaging

CT-led phenotyping of coronary artery disease, plaque, inflammation and the vessels beyond the lumen.

02

Multi-modality

Connecting CT, MRI and PET to build a richer, clinically useful view of disease.

03

Machine intelligence

Applying machine learning, radiomics and advanced image analysis to extract reproducible imaging biomarkers.

04

Whole-person insight

Extending analysis beyond the heart to the lungs, blood vessels, body composition and incidental cardiovascular risk.

Landmark impact · SCOT-HEART

Evidence that
changed practice.

Professor Williams was instrumental in SCOT-HEART, serves on the steering committees of SCOT-HEART and SCOT-HEART 2, and is leading SCOT-HEART Evolution. The programme showed how CT coronary angiography can change diagnosis and treatment—and deliver a sustained reduction in heart attacks.
